Today is a great morning to be a golf fan. The second round of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur is underway, with 17-year-old Soomin Oh tied for the lead at seven under alongside Stanford’s Maria Jose Marin after Wednesday. Not too far behind is 17 year old Stanford commit, Asterisk Talley who set the nine hole course record on the back nine yesterday, enroute to a bogey free 66. Six-time ANWA participant Megha Ganne looks to rebound, after a first round 77 left her Saturday hopes in jeopardy.

On the professional side of women’s golf, the first round Aramco Championship at Shadow Creek is underway. The event is part of the PIF Global Series, and features a four million dollar purse. A few key groupings include Nelly Korda, Jessica Korda, and Charley Hull as well as two past ANWA champions Lottie Woad, Rose Zhang, and Mimi Rhodes.

Moving onto the men’s side of the game, the Valero Texas Open kicks off this morning. The tournament is one of the oldest on the PGA Tour, dating back to 1922. The tournament serves as a final tune-up for players before the Masters. This year’s field is highlighted by 3 major champions, including 7 of the game’s top 15 player’s.
