Both the LPGA and LET will be competing at Shadow Creek this week at the Aramco Championship. The event is the second of five PIF Global Series events. The Aramco Championship however, is the first dual LPGA and LET sanctioned Global Series event. The Global Series, backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, features elevated purses and spans five countries across three continents. The tournament marks a new beginning at Shadow Creek, with the format shifting from match play to a stroke play this year.
The course has been one of the best on the schedule since the tour’s first event there in 2021. The Tom Fazio layout is consistently ranked as one of the country’s greatest golf courses. Fazio was practically given an unlimited budget Steve Wynn, and with that budget he created his finest golf course. Shadow Creek is commonly described as an oasis in the desert. The course features lush tree-lined fairways, as well as ponds, and creeks to challenge the best in the world. Shadow Creek has held multiple non-LPGA tournaments in the past, perhaps none more notable though than Tiger Woods’ match with Phil Mickelson.

Madelene Sagstrom came out victorious last year at Shadow Creek, but she is taking time off as she expects a baby boy in September. Despite Sagstrom’s absence, this week’s field is the strongest of the season. All of the top twenty ladies in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings are in the field this week. Yet, few provide a greater storyline than Hyo Joo Kim. Kim has won back-to-back events and now looks to challenge Nelly Korda’s record of five consecutive wins, set in 2024.

Coverage for the first two rounds begins on Golf Channel, airing from 7pm to 10pm. Weekend coverage starts two hours earlier, running from 5PM to 9PM. It’s a great week in women’s golf with two prestigious events running this week.
